Join us for a Coffee Break edition of the HISC Brown Bag Series- shorter, focused briefings designed to highlight current priorities in Hawaiʻi’s invasive species response. HISC is hosting a special session featuring Senator Donovan M. Dela Cruz.

As Hawaiʻi continues to face high-profile and fast-spreading invasive species, strategic leadership and coordinated funding are more important than ever. The Hawaiʻi Invasive Species Council (HISC) is honored to host Senator Donovan M. Dela Cruz for a Coffee Break focused on biosecurity policy, resource allocation, and defending Hawaiʻi’s communities and ecosystems from invasive species threats.

Senator Dela Cruz has been a leading voice in budget and policy discussions related to invasive species, natural resource protection, and interagency coordination. In this session, he will share insights on current and emerging threats, the state’s role in supporting invasive species response, and how funding decisions connect directly to on-the-ground action.
