Posted on Jan 21, 2022 in NewsJoin us to learn more about invasive species during the month of February for Hawaiʻi Invasive Species Awareness Month. This year we will by exploring the three wao’s (or realms) of Akua (upper forests), Kanaka (lower valleys and urban areas), and Kahakai (wetlands, ocean) with special online presentations, virtual tours, identification classes, and other activities. Each week will focus on a different wao, and we will learn from the people who work in each realm. Look for presentations from each of the main Hawaiian islands, including from the CRB Response Team, Island Invasive Species Committees, Department of Aquatic Resources, Department of Fish and Wildlife, Plant Pono, the Watershed Partnerships, and much more.
