Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle Response Updates
The Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle (CRB), an invasive pest, was detected December 23, 2013 at Joint Base Pearl Harbor – Hickam (JBPH-H) on coconut palms. A joint effort between the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM), U.S. Navy (USN), Hawaii Department of Agriculture (HDOA) and other partners has mobilized and an Incident Command System (ICS) has been established to respond to this pest emergency.
