National Carbon Management Day

National Carbon Management Day is a day to highlight the importance of reducing and managing carbon emissions to address climate change. It encourages individuals, industries, and governments to take measurable steps toward a low-carbon future.
The Forestry Program at the Division of Forestry and Wildlife is committed to reducing carbon in our atmosphere through nature-based solutions. The more robust, healthy, and dynamic a forest is, the more it is capable of absorbing carbon from the atmosphere. High-integrity forest carbon projects address climate change by increasing the number of native trees established on a site. These projects can also provide additional ecological, social, and economic benefits (often termed “co-benefits”) in the project area. Learn more about carbon projects, including forest restoration and carbon credits, on our Forest Carbon Projects page.
