Native Plant Watering: Aloha Tree Alliance

March 7

This event is from a partner in the Year of Our Community Forests

Volunteer at Kuli’ou’ou Ridge Trail

Join us to protect a place that is rich in beauty, native species, and cultural history!

Once beloved for its native trees, shrubs, plants, birds and snails, the Kuli‘ou‘ou Ridge Trail is in desperate need for restoration. Today, due to overuse and misuse, the meager remaining native forests struggle to survive against erosion from shortcuts, aggressive invasive species, and droughts. Downstream, the runoff from degraded forests kills coral and pollutes Maunalua Bay. Restoring Kuli‘ou‘ou Ridge Trail and the surrounding forest is a massive undertaking, but it is necessary for the health of our community, native forest ecosystems, and the ocean.

Please join us in our efforts to restore this native forest. Youʻll learn how to remove invasive species, plant native plants and become a steward of the ʻāina. Check out our volunteer opportunities below!
