REMINDER: 2014 LANAI MOUFLON SHEEP HUNTING
SEASON APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE

HONOLULU – The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) announces that application forms for the 2014 Lanai mouflon sheep hunting season, together with instruction sheets, are available at all Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) offices statewide.. It is imperative that hunter applicants obtain and pay particular attention to the hunt instruction sheet and addendum for any changes in the application process.

Pursuant to Title 13, Chapter 123, “Rules Regulating Game Mammal Hunting” (§ 13-123-4), special conditions and procedures will be in effect for this hunt. The 2014 Lanai mouflon sheep season will consist of three (3) hunts:

1) The Archery Only hunt will be held over eight (8) consecutive days, beginning July 26, 2014, and ending on Aug. 2, 2014.

2) The Muzzleloading hunt will be conducted for two (2) consecutive weekends (Saturday and Sunday), Aug. 9 and 10, 2014, and Aug. 16 and 17, 2014.

3) The General Rifle hunt will be held over nine (9) consecutive weekends (Saturday and Sunday), beginning on Aug. 23, 2014, and ending on Oct. 19, 2014.

Applications for all hunts may be submitted in-person or mailed to the Maui DOFAW Office, 54 S. High St., Rm. 101, Wailuku HI 96793.

Lanai residents only are to mail or deliver their applications to the Lanai DOFAW Office at 917 Fraser Ave., P.O. Box 630661, Lanai City, HI 96763.

The DEADLINE for submitting applications is 4 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014. Interested hunters are encouraged to submit their application well before the application deadline to ensure proper processing.
