HUNTING UNITS A AND J OPEN
TO FERAL PIG HUNTING ON KAUAI
LIHUE, KAUAI — Hunting Unit A on the island of Kauai will open to feral pig hunting starting Sunday, February 1, 2015, and ending June 28, 2015 on Saturdays, Sundays, and State Holidays. Hawaii residents interested in hunting feral pig in Hunting Unit A are required to acquire a permit from the Kauai DOFAW office. All provision of Chapter 123 rules and Chapter 123 Exhibit 1 shall remain in effect.
Hunters may pick up their permits in the Lihue Division of Forestry and Wildlife office at 3060 Eiwa St., Room 306. Hunters must present their 2014-15 Hawaii Hunting License when obtaining their permit. Another person may pick up a permit, but must present the license of the hunter applying.
Hunters must sign in and sign out at either the Kokee or Kekaha Hunter Checking Stations for each day of hunting. The use of hunting dogs will NOT be permitted in hunting Unit A. The bag limit will be one (1) pig per hunter per day.
Hunting Unit J-Archery Area will also open to archers only for feral pig hunting on Saturdays, Sundays and State Holidays beginning Sunday, February 1, 2015 and ending on June 28, 2015. No hunting permit will be required for this area, but each hunter must sign in and sign out at the Kokee Hunter Checking Station. Only legal archery equipment may be used (13-123-22-(b)). The use of hunting dogs will not be permitted in Hunting Unit J. The bag limit will be one (1) pig per hunter per day.
