Maui Nui Volunteer & Education Events

Anyone who picks up trash in a natural area is a volunteer, but volunteering to help with specific projects or needs is a great way to give back to the ʻaina, community and to meet others doing the same.  You can register below with iVolunteer, the volunteer event management system used by DLNR, to be notified of future opportunities. Or you can contact Jeff Bagshaw Information & Education Specialist at jeff.w.bagshaw@hawaii.gov or 808-264-7891 to discuss future opportunities. When contacting us about volunteer interest, please provide the following:

  • Your primary area of interest (e.g., plants, animals, restoration activities, or native species monitoring)
  • Any special skills you can offer or any special needs you may have
  • Your availability (e.g., weekday or weekend, general time commitment).

We have many partners with whom you can also volunteer, including MauiWatershed.org, Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project, the Maui Nui Seabird Recovery Project, and the Maui Nui Marine Resource Council.
