‘Ilima is a common shrub throughout Hawai‘i’s drylands, ranging from the salt-sprayed coastlines to the high-elevation areas that surround you. Various plant parts were used in Hawaiian medicine. The bright yellow flowers are a favorite in lei, especially among royalty.
