Aloha and welcome to the Koaiʻa Corridor Trail System Planning Page. The Nā Ala Hele Trail and Access Program is initiating the planning of a potential trail system within the Koaiʻa Plant Sanctuary Corridor on Hawaiʻi Island. This webpage will serve as the main source for all current happenings regarding the planning process for this project.

Current Project Status
Nā Ala Hele is in the early stages of the planning process. We are now collecting public input to inform our understanding of this area as we prepare for the Environmental Assessment process. This initial commentary period is from November 14, 2025, until December 31, 2025. There will be more chances to provide commentary throughout the environmental review process.
