Your search found 2568 hits- Game Bird Hunting Season For 2016-2017 To Start On November 5HONOLULU -- The Department of Land and Natural Resources announces the opening of the 2016-2017 Game Bird Hunting Season on Saturday, November 5, 2016. Department biologists are predicting a below average season of bird hunting, with lingering drought impacts in many parts of the state. The fall game bird hunting season will run through Sunday, January 29, 2017. A valid hunting license and a game bird stamp are required for all game bird hunting on public and private lands. All game bird hunting is regulated by Hawaii Administrative Rules Title 13, Chapter 122 (see https://hawaii.gov/dlnr/dofaw “Administrative Rules” for all legal hunting days).

- DLNR Conducts Sound Tests At Proposed Pu’u Anahulu Shooting RangeWaikoloa – The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) commissioned additional sound testing at the proposed Pu’u Anahulu Shooting Range on Hawaii Island yesterday. Organized by the consulting firm DLNR retained to assist in the preparation of environmental documents for the long-planned range, these live-fire shooting tests will lead to a computerized visual characterization of sound levels at various sites across the one-square mile range and surrounding areas.

- Hunter Education Instructors Recognized For Outstanding Service(Honolulu) – Seventeen Hawaii hunter education instructors were honored today by DLNR Chair Suzanne Case and First Deputy Director Kekoa Kaluhiwa during a service award presentation kicking off Hawaii’s annual instructor meeting. The volunteer instructors, responsible for training youth and adult hunters at 75 classes annually, were recognized with awards for from 50 hours of service to 4500 hours of service. In total, the awards presented today represent more than 20,000 hours of combined, total service.
- Puu Waawaa (PWW) Forest Reserve Mauka Ungulate Control Program Lottery ResultsThere were 210 available slots for hunters to be selected in our Puu Waawaa Forest Reserve Mauka Ungulate Control Program. To accommodate for the high demand for hunting in this area as shown in previous years, we initially decided to limit the hunting trips to one (1) hunt per hunter. However, we received very few applicants for this year’s program. There were a total of 169 applicants. Consequently, there were several unfilled hunting slots after the first draw. Under these circumstances, we decided to redraw from the overall applicant pool to fill the remaining hunting slots. Therefore, some applicants were selected to hunt on multiple dates.
