- 06/04/14 – State Working To Save Endangered Native KoloaHONOLULU –Even wildlife biologists have a tough time telling the difference between the endangered koloa maoli (Hawaiian duck) and the common mallard. Cross-breeding or hybridization between the two species is the primary reason the endemic koloa is endangered.
- 11/18/22 – SOUTH KAWAIHAE SMALL BOAT HARBOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT(HONOLULU) The South Kawaihae Small Boat Harbor (SBH) on Hawaiʻi Island will be undergoing renovations beginning November 21. Site Engineering, Inc. has been contracted by the DLNR Division of Boating and Ocean (DOBOR) for the project.
- 10/02/23-LĀHAINĀ TREE-COVERY PROJECT IS MORE THAN THE FAMOUS BANYAN TREE(Lāhainā, Maui) – The 150-year-old Banyan Tree, which shades nearly a full block between Front Street and Wharf Street in downtown Lāhainā, continues to show positive signs of recovery following the August 8 wildfire. It is not the only tree, however, receiving attention from a group of volunteer arborists and landscapers who have banded together as the Lāhainā Treescape Restoration Project. The title was coined by arborist Steve Nimz who initiated care and watering for the historic Banyan tree.
