Your search found 1456 hits- 02/19/24 – WILDLAND FIREFIGHTERS TRAIN TO USE FIRE TO FIGHT FIRE(HANAPĒPĒ, KAUA‘I) – Two dozen federal, state, and county firefighters have completed what is known as ignition training. It will become another tool in the box for Hawai‘i wildland firefighters who anticipate more frequent and more ferocious fires due to the impacts of global climate change.
- 05/20/21-WAIKĪKĪ BEACH MAINTENANCE PROJECT COMPLETE(Waikīkī) – Just in time for the upcoming summer season, the Waikīkī Beach Maintenance project to restore and rejuvenate Waikīkī is complete. The 14-week-long recurring maintenance retrieved marine sand from a large sand field in shallow waters about 1,000-feet offshore. The project has roughly doubled the beach width on most sections of the Royal Hawaiian Beach cell between the Royal Hawaiian Hotel and Kūhiō Beach Park.

- 07/08/21-LIVE GOAT SALVAGE OPPORTUNITY AT PUʻUHONUA O HŌNAUNAU(Kailua-Kona) – Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau, on the west side of Hawaiʻi Island, is an important cultural and historical location that once served as a hub of political and religious activity within the Kona district. The site, now a National Historic Park including 420 acres spread across three ahupuaʻa, contains an area that is being overrun by invasive goats. In order to protect those resources, the DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) announce a goat salvage project in cooperation with the Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau National Historical Park.
