Your search found 1634 hits- 02/11/19-AUWAHI WIND FARM DRAFT HABITAT CONSERVATION PLAN AMENDMENT HEARING(Kula)–An opening hearing will be held to receive testimony on the December 8, 2018 submittal of the Auwahi Wind Farm draft Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) amendment. Auwahi Wind Energy, LLC operates eight 3-megawatt wind turbines augmented by an 11-megawatt battery storage system located on ‘Ulupalakua Ranch, on the eastern side of the island of Maui. The project was constructed in 2012 and has been in operation since that time.

- 12/17/20-2020-2021 GAME BIRD HUNTING SEASON ANNOUNCED FOR THE KAHUA/PONOHOLO RANCH COOPERATIVE GAME MANAGEMENT AREA(Hilo) – The opening of the 2020-2021 Game Bird Hunting Season at the Kahua/Ponoholo Ranch Cooperative Game Management Area will begin on Saturday, December 19, 2020. This game bird hunting season will run through Sunday, January 17, 2021, with legal hunting days on Saturdays and Sundays, only. The hunting area will be open from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm. All hunters must be checked out of the area by 5:00 pm as the gates will be locked at that time. During this season, the areas that are open for hunting may change on a weekly basis as cattle operations are actively taking place.

- 09/30/20-PUBLIC HEARINGS SCHEDULED FOR INPUT ON THE AGRICULTURAL WATER USE AND DEVELOPMENT PLAN(Honolulu) -- The Commission on Water Resource Management (CWRM) will be holding public hearings online to solicit input on the update to the statewide Agricultural Water Use and Development Plan (AWUDP). Prepared by the Hawai’i Department of Agriculture, the AWUDP is a long-range management plan that assesses state and private agricultural water use, supply, and irrigation systems.
- 08/25/20-INSTALLED SIGNAGE MARKS THE COMPLETION OF NEW ROYAL HAWAIIAN GROIN(Honolulu) – Construction has been completed on the replacement for the 93-year-old Royal Hawaiian Groin in Waikīkī. As construction crews completed clean-up of the site and staging areas, signs reading “Danger- Keep Off” and “No Diving” were affixed directly to the groin. Because of the high amount of Japanese tourists that visit the beach, signs have been installed in both English and Japanese.
- 12/04/22 – HIKERS WARNED TO STAY OUT OF CLOSED AREA(HILO) - The Mauna Loa Forest Reserve was closed shortly after the volcanic eruption began one week ago. Yet, even after a public viewing area was closed for multiple hours today due to the discovery of unexploded ordnance (UXO) many people continue to trespass into the closed area.
