- 05/5/23 – VIRTUAL MEETING ON POHOIKI BOAT RAMP DREDGING PROJECT INVITES COMMUNITY COMMENT(HONOLULU) – The DLNR Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation (DOBOR) will hold a virtual public meeting to discuss the Draft Environmental Assessment (DEA) for the Pohoiki Boat Ramp Dredging of Volcanic Debris project on Wednesday, May 10, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Community participation is encouraged.
- 07/14/23 – LAND BOARD RECEIVES BRIEFING ON THE STATE OF WAIKĪKĪ COASTAL LANDS(HONOLULU) – Tension between an iconic visitor destination and beach erosion, exasperated by climate change, took front and center at today’s meeting of the state Board of Land and Natural Resources (BLNR). A Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is being prepared for the Waikīkī Beach Improvement and Maintenance Program. Once it is finalized the BLNR will need to authorize submission of the EIS to the Governor for acceptance.

- 10/27/23 – ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE 2023-2024 GAME BIRD HUNTING SEASON(HONOLULU) – The DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW) announces the opening of the 2023-2024 Game Bird Hunting Season on Saturday, November 4, 2023. The fall game bird hunting season will run through Sunday, January 28, 2024. A valid hunting license and a game bird stamp are required for all game bird hunting on public and private lands.
- 04/15/23 – ‘ĪAO VALLEY STATE MONUMENT REOPENS MAY 1(KAHULUI, MAUI) – Following a nine-month closure, for slope stabilization work, one of the most popular parks in the DLNR Division of State Parks (DSP) system is scheduled to reopen next month. The May 1 reopening will also mark the fourth Hawai‘i state park to require advance reservations for out-of-state visitors.
